Single Girder EOT

One bridge beam, with the hoist running on its bottom flange. The economical answer for most covered bays.

Choose it when

Loads are light to medium and the lifting rhythm is moderate
The bay is a workshop or warehouse doing general lifting
Budget matters and the duty cycle does not justify more steel

Double Girder EOT

Two bridge beams with the trolley running on top. More capacity, more hook height, more crane.

Choose it when

Duty cycles are heavy — shift after shift, lift after lift
The span is long, or every metre of hook height counts
The load itself is heavy enough that the top-running trolley earns its keep

Sizing it properly

Four Numbers Decide the Right Crane

An EOT crane specified on the wrong numbers is either an upgrade twelve months in or steel you paid for and never use. These are the four we ask about first.

Span

Rail to rail across the bay. It drives the girder, and the girder drives almost everything else.
Capacity

The heaviest lift the crane must make — not the average one. Rated for the worst day, not the typical day.
Duty cycle

How often, how heavy, how many hours a day. The number most often guessed — and the most expensive to guess wrong.
Headroom

The space between the rail and the roof. It decides the hoist configuration — and sometimes the girder type.
